So remember when I promised about updates and the like. Well we did get a back log…of 3 pages. We’ve been pretty inconsistent the past year and it’s been due to a lot of issues on both of our ends. Freux is in school and working full time and moving and doing all kinds of things. I’m not in school anymore (dun gradurated last December), I have an 8-5 job, and then nothing but free time. I feel bad that I’ve continually dropped the balls on updates, but life happens. Last week, I talked to Freux about quitting Luciefer. Both of us. Never working on it again. This is due to the lack of updates and the consistent letting you all down. But I’ve worked on Lucie for about 7 years off and on (with multiple versions, obviously), so it’s not an easy decision. This current version/revision of Luciefer is by far my favorite and it’s something I’m incredibly proud of. I also had the privilege to watch as Freux brought my characters and story to life. Well, after thinking about it a bit and realizing that after YEARS I’m finally about to get to the part of the story where everything picks up.
So here’s what’s going to happen, and you guys get to choose.
Option 1: We call it quits on Lucie. I pursue one of the other projects in my head. In this version of reality, there’s no more Lucie, but possible other projects that make more sense
Option 2: I take over drawing Luciefer while Freux gets things settled. This way I can provide weekly updates, while we work on a plan for the future. This will obviously equate in a style change, but I’m giving you all three options for the “style change” (and please keep in mind, that all but the third option were 5 minute pencil sketches, I just wanted to give you a rough idea of what it would look like. These would be for real inked and colored in the comic.). style a:

style b:

style c (tthere will be hands with this style, just didn’t draw ‘em…
:
In Option 2’s version of reality, Freux comes back and takes over from where I left off.
Option 3: We put Lucie on indefinite hiatus, and return only when Freux has a large enough backlog drawn (which could be anywhere from 6 months to a year+. Why this length? Because if I’m gonna make her draw it, I’m actually going to give her time to do it and not pressure her because she’s my homie). In the meantime, during this hiatus period, Freux and I would do a different comic together, but one that wouldn’t take much work. Short little stupid life things or geek humor or some Lucie one-shot gags, but nothing too deep, but something to show while you’re waiting.
Option 4: We clone Freux and myself. (Option 4 is not a real option, as I’ve run out of science).
So what’s it gonna be folks? With great power comes great responsibility.
Again I want to thank ALL of you who’ve stuck with me these 7 years, or 2 years, or 4 years, or wherever you jumped into the comic. You’ve all be super wonderful and I wish I had been able to deliver you more updates and less excuses. Still, you’ve all be fantastic! If you have any other ideas, put ‘em below.
<3 Zac
