History of Luciefer: A Rant
I’m going to talk about how this comic is made. Freux does about a good 110% of the work. For me, this NewNEW NEW Luciefer is much like the older version, an experiment and exercise in art, and more importantly this go around, for story telling. Obviously if you ever read the first version…it was a train wreck of formatting, dialogue, and artwork (though I still think it was more consistent, artwise than the NEW LUCIEFER). The New Lucieferwas me trying to focus on the art more…I think towards the end of it, I got to where I was comfortable with my style…though getting there was interesting to look back on.
(I’m going to stop typing for a minute because I’m confusing myself…From now on, let’s refer to these comics as… L TNL LuHa. L is the original non-canon story TNLis “The New Luciefer” and LuHa is this arc. )
So…as I was saying
The problem with TNL is that I never wrote a script. I knew where it started and where it ended but I only had pieces of the middle in my head. Not having a script drove me up the wall. I didn’t know how to write a script, and all I wanted was instant gratification of getting a page out.
While TNL was on hiatus, I wasn’t just doing nothing. I was finishing a graphics degree (which wraps up in December…it only took me 5 and a half years to get. I’m way older now than I thought I’d be when I started). Art and illustration in general feels comfortable to me now. When I put my mind to it, I feel like I can actually produce decent work now…which is nowhere near the feeling I had when I was drawing TNL (I knew what I wanted the pages to look like, but I could never make them come out the way they were in my head).
LuHa is my attempt at actually trying to flesh out this story by wordsmithing. I don’t consider myself a writer. I have all kinds of stories in my head, but getting them on paper is a whole different thing. I have too short of an attention span to write. However, As I get older and more involved in actually seeing what professionals have to do, I am realizing that if I ever want to be a professional that I have to be professional. So, this is my go at writing.
Freux does an amazing job at the artwork, and really she’s making the pages flow way better than the script. She really is a genius when it comes to this. Maybe part of becoming professional is finding people you work with well. I believe we work well together, though she may believe completely the opposite. You’ll have to ask her.
OH! And thank you to those of you have stuck around all these years. I’ve met a lot of awesome people, and really, you guys were an incredible boost to my actually being “artistic”.
Thank you to the new readers too! I hope you’ll stick around.

Also, if you’re a bit confused about what order or the sequence these comics go in…think about them like the Evil Dead movies.
Luciefer (2005) is Evil Dead 1.
TheNewLuciefer(2006-08) is like Evil Dead 2…which leads into —–> This currentLuciefer which is Army of Darkness.
OR
L is not canon. Please never read it, unless you would like to laugh at how bad I was.
TNL is canon. You do not have to read it, as it is summed up in the first two pages of LuHa).
LuHa is the sequel to TNL.

Dead-Dying-Buried?
